Graduate Coordinator, Titan Mentors
Position Type: Federal Work Study and Non-Work Study , Tuition remission for one class per semester and hourly compensation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The Titan Mentor Program is a pilot program aimed to impact the retention of some of our first year students.
- Outline the requirements and expectations of the Titan Mentors.
- Train the Titan Mentors.
- Coordinate The Titan Mentor Program.
- Supervisor the Titan Mentors.
- Coordinate strategic events for the Titan Mentor Program (kick off, wrap up, etc.)
- Track Peer Mentors Hours.
- Meet with Peer Mentor Leads regularly.
- Maintain a social media presence.
- Hire, train, coordinate the Titan Mentors.
- Follow up with Mentees that are in distress.
- Optional - on campus housing with afterhours crisis response
Note: We include remission for one graduate class.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a Graduate Program at The University of Detroit Mercy.
- Eligible for student employment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Leadership, communication, the Microsoft Suite (forms, excel, outlook), Canva, Social Media
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with mentoring.
- Student Leadership experience at the College/University level.
Anticipated Schedule:
- Varies, some weekend or evening hours.
